In July 2007, Dr. Jeffrey Sachs' Millennium Villages project (MVP) and ophthalmic partner Himalayan Cataract Project trialed a distribution of Adaptive Eyeglasses in Bonsaaso, a remote Ghanaian village.

Consulting ophthalmologist Dr. Geoffrey Tabin of HCP provided the following feedback via email: "I think the AdSpecs are fantastic: they are almost equal in accuracy of refraction to an experienced ophthalmic assistant performing retinoscopy!"
